Hi everybody, I´ve found in internet this useful guide to install Mac os X Leopard 1.5.6 in a Dell Precision 390 pc. Hope it´s useful for you, just for testing your dell computer…
Working after installation:
Video card, nVidia FX 550 128mb with Quartz Extreme, openGL and dual monitor
Sound, AD1984 working fine
usb, DVD, etc.
Not working:
Network card, but you can plug a PCI realtec card and it´s detected and working on the fly.
You need:
Mac os X Leopard 1.5.6 image DVD with NVdarwin and AD1984 drivers (you can find it in your favorite torrent search site)
PCI network card with chipset Realtec 8139 or simila (only if you want to connect to internet)
ok, let´s get started!
This is the network card with Realtec 8139 chipset, just plug it in an empty PCI slot.
Insert the DVD, and boot from dvd unit to start the installation program.
Select your desired language
Erase your disk with “Disk Utility”, choose MAC OS Plus (with registry) and give it a name like… leopard?
Select volume to install mac os x
IMPORTANT, now it´s necessary to make a custom installation!!
1st option, select another language if you need it (like spanish)
2nd option, select NVdarwin 128mb under Video Drivers
3rd option, select AD1984 under Audio Drivers
That´s all, do not select anything more and start installation
After a while, your system should be ready
here you can see the display/graphics status
Audio status
Also with two monitors system is working really fine
that´s all, enjoy!
